International Economic and Trade（国际经济与贸易）

Introduction（简介）

Established in 2001, the major of International Economics and Trade was one of the earliest multi-disciplinary majors of Jiangsu Vocational College of Information Technology. It is dedicated to produce the elites who can master English and basic theoretical knowledge of international economics and trade, and are capable in theoretical analysis and actual practice.

This major has sophisticated teaching methods. It has achieved great success in combining the knowledge of international economics and trade with English communicative capability. Over the past 3years, many graduates have entered domestic or multinational institutions. Most teachers have master’s degree with oversea study experience, which makes them familiar with the most updated theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This major provides advanced software for teaching international economics and trade, and part of the courses will be taught in laboratories equipped with computer simulation system, which can improve students’ professional skills. Since 2016, the major has recruited students from Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia and other countries. It provides talent gradutes for The Belt and Road program and construction.

Goals（培养目标）

This major aims to produce the elites who master theoretical knowledge of international economics and management, who are equipped with the basic knowledge and skills of international economics and trade, who can sophisticatedly handle businesses concerning international trade, international logistics, cross-border E-commerce, and who can independently handle international economic affairs.

Requirements（学习要求）

Students should master basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills of international trade, and know well about the status quo of the development of contemporary international economy and trade. They should be familiar with he basic principles and customary rules of current international trade, international logistics, cross-border E-commerce as well as the current law and regulations on international economy.

Upon graduation, students should be able to master English professionally , and should be able to use it sophisticatedly to handle businesses concerning international trade, international logistics, cross-border E-commerce. Students should be able to use computers proficiently. They should master all kinds of application software, know well about the network technology and can conduct business activities through the internet.

Most graduates go on to study at undergraduate Universities, such as Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing Tech University and Suzhou University.

Target Occupation: Interpreter in International company, employee in foreign trade company , employee in joint venture and so on.
